WordPress Image Sliders And Galleries That Kick Ass

Four things I doubt you know about me:

  1. I love me some wordpress plugins; I’ve got 52 installed on this blog at the moment
  2. I spent 12 years of my life working with photographers
  3. My Fotolia.com subscription ended yesterday :( Goodbye awesome visuals.
  4. I’ve had 6 different sliders on my homepage and 5 different galleries in the internal pages in the last year (not to mention I’ve been through a barrel more when hunting down the perfect photo plugin for past clients)

Tell me you’ve got a image/photo/slider plugin and I’m heading over to check it out! I love images, they bring life to everything. I love having super techy ways to display my work and photos I use here on the blog in general. So I wanted to share with you the best, of the ones I’ve used, because it’s a shorter list than sharing the worse. There were some really bad ones.

What qualifies these wordpress slider and gallery plugins as being kick ass?

They’re either

  • Cool looking
  • Cool looking while still inexpensive or free
  • Versatile with extensive options
  • Simple to setup and use
  • Personally recommended for portfolios, product showcases, family photo sharing or featuring recent posts.

Something you probably do know about me or will when you watch the videos (yes! there’s video!) – I don’t use a script. I should. It would be uber pro of me. yeah…moving on.

Every website needs visual appeal. Whether it be pictures, sliders, galleries or videos. For sites offering services or products, a professional slider enforces the fact that you’re a pro. With the recent Google Panda update 3.4 , you don’t want a huge slider above the fold if you’re interested in ranking in search engines, but you can still include sliders for visual appeal while keeping the search engine happy.

Visit my review page of WordPress Image Slider, Gallery and Slideshow Plugins That I Recommend.

You’ll find slideshow plugins, a gallery plugin, a content slider and before + after galleries with review, working demo (not screenshots) and some have tutorial videos so you can see if the setup fits your comfort level.
