Tuesday’s Tear Sheet: New WordPress Design projects
Tuesday’s almost over but I wanted to share another Tear Sheet with y’all.
Tuesday Tearsheets
For those who aren’t familiar with Tear Sheets, in the imaging industry, a tear sheet is a promotion piece used by creatives to prove to clients that they’ve been published. For photographers and other creatives, it’s a printed piece, usually a reproduction of the magazine ad that their work was published for.
So today I’d like to share with you my two newest designs.
These are brand new sites so there’s no before and after.
First, my current client, Candi Taylor-Jeeter.
Candi is an author and a career coach. She helps individuals frustrated with today’s economy create their own careers. She provides entrepreneur coaching, helping others to dig up what they’re good and build a service they can offer to help others while achieving their own financial independence. She has a unique way of helping you find what you were meant to do. You can learn about her and her services at http://www.canditaylorjeter.com/
I created Candi’s logo and designed her site. We actually just finished up today. Take a look:
The real thing is oh so much better.
I’m also working on Candi’s bookstore at the moment, where she offers guides and workbooks to help aspiring entrepreneurs.
I created the logo for this site too, and though the theme carries over from her main site, I made a few tweaks for functionality, You can check out the bookstore here. Keep in mind, it’s a work in progress!
My second client was the teens.
God help me.
I barely got through it.
And even now, it’s time consuming for me. The girls have 4 drafts each waiting for me to review and publish. I’ve sent back two for rewrites so far.
Well, I always wanted to be an editor.
At least for the past year.
I can’t wait to see how they grow this site and what they add to the sidebar. LOL.
For me, being the old timer that i am, ya’ know, at 25, it’s kinda hard on the eyes, but they love it and it seems their peers are loving it too because so many of their friends want to start a blog.
I gotta tell you, I was amazed to find how similar the teen blogging community is to the mom bloggers. We found many teen bloggers who have sponsors and use twitter. Only a handful have fb fanpages. Hell, we found one teen who has an agent and is about to publish a book, at 16!
Here’s a peek at the design, but you really have to visit the site to get the full effect.
Eh, who knew I could throw together logos and headers. Pretty damn proud of myself.
Love to hear what you think!

Great work Vanita!!! Beautiful site and I bet both will be big successes!
Book deal at 16?! Note to self… got to get my daughter posting more often!!!

aww thanks girl. coming from a super creative lady like you, it means a lot. i’m all smiles over here.
Your girls’ blog rocks. I love the design; I love the content they’re putting on there. They are smart, opinionated girls, huh? Very nice work- I found myself actually being interested in what they were writing about, and I’m elderly and all.

LMAO, when i told vanessa, she said, the lady with the dino and the foil art? isn’t she like 20? she visits your blog too.
I totally act like I’m 20, anyway. That’s how I deal with getting older.

it’s not getting older, it’s getting better
OMG, and Candi’s site looks great, too! It’s so polished and professional and doesn’t look like a brand new site. You’re good.

One thing on my things to do list: Create custom WP design. Great job, and I can imagine that – for the clients – it’s awesome to have a blog design that’s just designed for them! It’s like a signature.
