Finally! I’m taking the leap!

skydiving in central london 300x225 Finally! Im taking the leap!i’ve always been the cautious type.

i analyze everything before I try it.

i take my ideas and stick them in a box to reevaluate again and again.

y’all know i love empowering my fellow mom bloggers, right?

y’all know i like climbing up on my soap box and having others listen to me, right?

especially since my kids barely listen.

and you’ve seen how i’ve been flipping back and forth between offering classes and writing an ebook.

well i found a happy medium.

i’ve started an email/video course, and though classes don’t officially start until monday, my 12 students are on assignments one and two this weekend!

yay!

i’ve got to tell you it’s a lot of work putting this together.

it’s a 2 week course and i’ll be handing out exercises everyday starting from Monday.

answering qs while we go.

checking out my students’ sites when they need me to.

but you know what?

i love it.

when i was corporate, i spent a lot of time training creatives on techy and analytical stuff. showing ‘em how to play by the universal rules of our industry, and still look good.

i can’t tell you how excited i am to do this again.

different industry, same concept and working with creative again.

added bonus…creative moms.

wicked or what?

only thing is, i really didn’t plan on it this time.

i recently started working with a fellow mom blogger via email and then i offered the same program to another fellow mom blogger that i adore…then i realized this would be pretty cool to offer all my newsletter subscribers. twelve beat the entry deadline…so…we’re off!

i’ve taken a huge leap without evaluating this one and it feels right.

and then i realized, doing this via video would be so much damn easier, more fun and my class could look over my shoulder.

and there you’ve got it. the google luv course was born!

and i don’t have enough materials prepared.

yep. usually when i play seo consultant, it’s based on a specific site. i can’t use that material because a client paid for it.

so i’ve been crunching the past few days, which is why i’ve been missing from the blogosphere and the social media sphere.

side note:

what do you give the mother you don’t like for her birthday…your kids for 4 hours.

MUHAHAHA.

yep, the kids are off to visit grandma and I’ve got two hours to blog and two hours to cook before they get back.

hubby is also working today.

so…i’m going to go and TRY really hard to schedule some posts and do some blog hopping.

i’ll catch y’all soon and if you’re interested in learning more about the course visit the google luv course.

  1. OH AWESOME, good fot you!!

OK I missed out on the first round but I definitely want to get in on the next round – I need to brush up all my skills as I want to (eventually) do social media consulting from home (you know, actually get paid to be on the computer versus well, not).

Yay for 4 hours to yourself!

  2. Woo! Isn’t that great! :D i am laugihng at how you got your four hours!

Better sneak in some time for yourself just to put your feet up, girl. Or down – in a bowl of hot water with salt in it.

Hugs! Your course sounds terrific ;-)

  3. You are awesome! I’m happy that you’re doing what you love! Sometimes, the biggest and best things in our life are unplanned. They’re leaps of faith based upon a feeling in our gut that this is it. This is it for you! You’re good at this so keep going with this!

    • have i mentioned each of my kids was a surprise? LMAO

  4. Glad I found your site. Your writing style tickles me, makes me want to come back for more. Definitely different than what I’m used to. Some of that, I think, is because you’re apparently on the opposite side of the pond.

My first impression: This girl is not bound by the same boring standards of punctuation and sentence structure that governs so many bloggers.

I think in this day of a gazillion blogs all yammering away in inane anonymity, one needs something, a trick, a gimmick, a voice—that’s it, a distinct voice—to make oneself rise above the pack.

I strive for that in my own blog. But you, madam, have accomplished that admirably.

    • thanks so much Adam. I am humbled. I did drop by your blog and will have to return again! thanks for stopping by. what’s funny? i haven’t come across a blog where the blogger doesn’t use their own voice. i guess it all depends on what circles you travel in…

    • thanks girl and thanks so much for the shout out on twitter! much appreciated!

  5. I must say since I’ve been behind on my…well everything since my health fiasco, I missed your email where you were offering the course for free! Totally bummed about that, however I have the information for the future, so I’m definitely going to keep it in mind :) I’m really excited to see how this first round goes and to see what your students have to say! You are quite the impressive lady V, you know that? :)
