Growing Dreams Into Reality
Dream Big
You know you can dream big!
Dream of seeing the world.
Dream of financial security.
Dream of success.
Dream of changing the world.
Dream of whatever you want.
You know what your heart wants the most.
You may not know how to get it…yet.
It may not be fine tuned to a specific goal…yet.
But dream baby.
Ideas will grow from it.
As a child I watched every episode of Mr. Rogers. When I saw this remixed parody video I cried, because i remember many of these clips and i remember imagining all sorts of fun adventures with those puppets.
It’s something I want to share with you today.
This series not only spoke to me as a child, but even now it speaks to me.
Dream of what you want my sistah and ideas WILL grow.
Takes those ideas and run with them.
Bounce them off your friends or a mentor. More brains are better than one.
Take those ideas and turn them into a new dream, with a focus.
A focus to make that dream become reality.
And DO WHAT NEEDS DOING.
Don’t sit and wait until you “know enough” or are “good enough”.
The reality is, we are enough right now and the moment comes when we need to a bit more, we’ll have grown enough, experienced enough, learned enough by then to be enough at that moment.
Sometimes you need motivation
You can’t live a dream, but you can turn it into a reality.
I have and so can you.
You just need to be motivated from the start.
What motivates you to want this dream?
It will motivate you to make it a reality.
Take whatever motivates you, whether it be the words scribbled on a post-it:
- I will visit italy next year.
- I will get out of debt.
- I will own my own business.
And stick that sucker wherever you spend the most of your time.
I’ve had one major goal for the past 3 years.
Above my desk, there’s a post it that reads, “I will spend my days with my kids.”
Underneath that post-it is another post-it. This post-it contains a supporting goal.
Supporting goals to the above look like this:
- I will visit italy next year.
- Deposit $300 into saving on the 15th of every month.
- I will get out of debt.
- Negotiate payment agreement with Amex.
- I will own my own business.
- Write down a list of my expertise tomorrow.
It changes once that goal is met. It reinforces the first goal. My eye is always on the first goal, but this second goal helps me make that first goal happen.
This month’s goal is “I will make X amount of money by June 30 to pay for X”
I have a 3rd goal now and they all tie into each other.
My third goal is, “I will support moms who have the same goal as me in reaching their goals”
Goal number one motivates me to do goal number two and the success of it makes me want to do goal number 3.
Keep your goals insight and you’ll reach them.
These smiles are motivation for the first goal.
What motivates you?
What dreams do you have?
Are you ready to grow ideas from those dreams and make them a reality?
Answer one or answer all. Share girl, share in the comments section or in a tweet or hell even by email.
Love and hugs to you all!

‘Dreaming is ok, but making dreams come true is better’
What I’m trying to say is, that anyone can make up dreams (for themselves or others) but don’t follow through in making them come true. When you set a goal for yourself is just when you plan something and make an agreement with yourself to not break that promise. In order to make a promise to yourself your have to SMART-plan it. One of the conditions is, it should be a realistic goal. And it’s important to reward yourself when you achieve your goal without breaking the promise you’ve made. Trust me, it works!
People motivate me, If i can help I will. One of my dreams is moving to the US permanently. I just like it there, can’t help it.

yep, you’ve got to do something with those dreams. that’s why i decide on a goal and have supporting goals. those supporting goals have been helping me being successful in my main goal. the supporting goals change weekly, monthly, but no matter what their purpose has been to support the main goal.
so Jan, is all the pink freaking you out?
and in US i hope you mean NYC.

Your first goal is my first goal too! After that I would like to create great blog content, get lots of visitors, and make enough money to stop freelancing : )

I loved this Vanita. The site looks awesome and you have really taken it to a whole new level. Your post was spot on and if you don’t act on your dreams, it won’t mean much than just that: a dream. Dreams keep us motivated, inspired and goal setters, but again, if you all you do is talk, it remains a dream. Talk is cheap.
Dreams require action, they won’t just be given to you and I think sometimes some people put expectations on those dreams that if they do this it will happen overnight. That’s a sure fire way to destroy your dreams if your expectations are more powerful than the action required to get it done.

This is why I set goals girl. If i don’t, it just stays a dream. When the teens were younger, i use to dream about working less and spending more time with them, now they’re teens. And now I have toddlers. There was no way I was going to miss more milestones. So I set goals. They make my dreams practical, ya’ know? Thank you for your compliment on the design. I would like to say I worked hard on it, but I really didn’t lol. i just let the momminess out.
I think constantly asking what motivates you is so important in all life aspects. Fab post!
