Friday Blogger Follow: International Style

Friday Blogger Follow

As my tweeps know, on #FollowFriday I like recommending bloggers. Those bloggers who I find are just awesome. But 140 characters is not enough to sing the praise those bloggers deserve. I’m changing up the format a bit though. I’m sharing the blog’s url and not the twitter url, cause frankly, i’ve got way too many outbound links in these posts. I’m also focusing on one blogger per post. Why? Because this post has been written and waiting two weeks for me to finish it.

International Style

For the longest I had one friend who blogs from the other side of the planet. That’s the extraordinary Maureen in Jakarta of Tatter Scoops. I think my second friend is Jan from the Netherlands, who I only met a few months ago and have mentioned both in this post.

Now I’ve got a several really cool fellow bloggers around the world and I want to share one with you that I haven’t before.

You need to meet Vidya. I love Vidya’s blog, but most of all I love her writing style because she is naturally too bloody funny and I’m going to share a taste of it from a comment she left on a recent post about commenting.

I usually don’t care a rat’s backside whether the blog is big or not. Let’s face it, if it weren’t for commenters/readers/visitors/lurkers and now sharers – size wouldn’t come into the picture – I mean, nobody’d even know they existed. If the post appeals, I always comment when I have something worthwhile to say. (And I am under the delusion that I always have something worthwhile to say  (wow, those emoties were beckoning to me and I just had to click one!).

Friday Blogger Follow: Divas to the Rescue

Women Who Bring The Support

Yeah, I know, I’ve been writing about support a lot lately. Joining Triberr, following Hashtags, and being a part of a blogging community has all been steps I’m taking to support my fellow bloggers and gain support for myself.

I mean seriously, trying to:

  1. chase tots,
  2. decipher teens,
  3. count calories,
  4. spend time with hubby,
  5. listen to my mom complain,
  6. build a new business
  7. cater to clients
  8. clean the house and part-time cook

all during the same time slot, can get pretty overwhelming. And the doubts, the doubts that that is at all possible, too many to count.

But lately, I’ve had support thrown at me, and I want to share with you those Divas (brilliant, supportive, caring women) who’ve given me pick-me-ups through the past 2 weeks.

Moms Without The Fluff

no fluff hereI gotta say, I follow some wicked no-bullshit moms on twitter. Moms who tell it like it is and are funny in the process. Moms who don’t sweeten the telling with “appropriate words” or shy away from what may be embarrassing topics. Check them out cause they are just awesome and that’s no bullshit.

@PrettyAllTrue

Kris has to be the first funny blogger I ever came across. Don’t get me wrong, she has her serious moments, but I swear, the way this average mom tells her stories about her life and family are beyond bloody average. Why? Because she’s honest about the way she sees it. And, because she’s totally inappropriate. She says the things on Pretty All True that are on her mind the way that they’re on her mind. Kris, doesn’t give a rat’s ass how you perceive her. If you don’t like it, keep on moving.

KathyKate can take everyday life, whether it be thigh popping pants, her boobs or her son who doesn’t clean vaginas, and make you laugh. Every post is like listening to your girlfriend tell you about her day. There’s no censoring. There’s no awkwardness. It’s just, “Here’s what happened, don’t tell me this shit hasn’t happened to you”. Posts every bloody mom can relate to.

These ladies below are Warriors in the true sense. They are battling everyday. A battle that so many of us are not ready to take on or are just plain scared — so many of us, including me.

It’s with pride that I say I know these awesome bloggers. Bloggers who share their journey for others like me to learn from and get encouragement from.

Today, I’m taking quotes from their blogs to introduce them. Nothing I say can explain their reason for fighting (and blogging about it) better than their own words.

Friday Blogger Follow: Parents of Teens

#FollowFriday

Parents of TeensAs my tweeps know, on #FollowFriday I like recommending bloggers. Those bloggers who I find are just awesome. But 140 characters is not enough to sing the praise those bloggers deserve. So I’m grabbing a meme from John Paul Aquiar, who happens to be my favorite twitter go-to guy, and I’m twisting it to fit my own weird needs.

SideNote: John hosts a Follow Friday Top 10 List where he lists twitter using who he finds to use twitter the right way. There’s always a great list of people who share and engage. Listen to him, follow them, he’s a genius. (Yes I was on a list once, shut it!) John’s twitter handle: @JohnAguiar .

So Welcome To Friday Blogger Follow!

#FBF  Think it’ll catch on? Haven’t found it on the web or twitter so It’s MINE! And NEW!

UPDATE 7/27/2011: #FBF Follow Back Friday how did I not find this and never saw this until today?
