Finding Support in Blogging + Social Media

Blogging + Community

community of women bloggersToday, I have to thank my blog. Yes, my blog. This blog has connected me to so many wonderful women.

Wonderful women I can relate to, who have given me encouragement and support and made me laugh my butt off on twitter. Women who have promoted me and shared my posts with their friends. Wonderful women that I can email when I need brains to pick or a recommendation written on my behalf. Women who understood my fashion dilemma and gave me great advice, so this summer, I was actually stylin’. Incredible women, who time and again, amaze me at their willingness to be there for a woman they’ve never met.

Thank you blog, for bringing me into the folds of a beautiful community.

And special thank you to you Wonderful, Incredible Women. You know who you are and I just want you to know you’re very important to me.

Social Media

Twitter has definitely become my source for inspiration and learning. Yes, learning. There are amazing articles shared by so many bloggers; subjects I wouldn’t have even thought of Googling but am so glad that my Twitter community shares. If you’re a new blogger and haven’t made that leap into Twitter or Facebook, I assure you, you are missing out. Here’s a few hashtags I want to share with you.

#Blogchat

I came across this hashtag on twitter last night. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it before, but really, I was probably too engrossed with the above mentioned Wonderful Women. From what I saw last night, there’s a lot that can be learned from just stalking the chat. Especially helpful to the newbie.

#MOMeoChat

This chat was a blessing in disguise. The Mom Entrepreneurs in this chat gave me the kick in the ass I needed to start my own business. I wasn’t sure it could be done. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to successfully work from home. But these women, they showed me it IS possible. I am forever grateful and if you’re aspiring to be a WAHM or are a WAHM I suggest you follow this hashtag and join in on the chats and check out MOMeoMagazinefor great articles that can help you get your butt in gear too. If you’ve been thinking of owning your own business but don’t have any business experience, some have mentioned  online business programs, plus resources can be found at Guide to Online Schools.com.

#SMGirlfriends

I’ve been following this hashtag on twitter for a couple of weeks now and I’ve got to tell you, the amount of advice, support and encouragement these women share, is astounding. And the best part, from what I’ve seen, using this hashtag can bring you into the folds of a community on twitter where you’ll find support on those days when you could really use it. This video, from Social Media Girlfriends has to be one of the best videos I’ve seen in a while. It made me smile, because it’s so truthful and because it’s exactly what I’ve found in the past year through this blog and twitter. So I’ll end this post with the video. I hope you enjoy it and find some hope and encouragement from it.
