Blog Button (Side by Side Version)

blog promotion+custom blog designBlog Buttons

Oh this brings back memories. About a year ago, a few of us were scrambling around to find the HTML code for a blog button. You know, that little 125×125 pixel ad we bloggers like to create for our blogs. It’s actually a pretty cool promo tool. Even cooler when someone can grab the button’s code and paste it on to an Awesome Bloggers page.

Anyway, I grabbed the awesome coding from The Mama Hen and TaaDaa! we’re all in business.

Getting your Sidebar Buttons Organized

Now it’s a year later, my sidebar is wider and I’m thinking, it would be cool if the code was beside the button. It’ll save vertical space, ya’ know? And what’s the most organized way to place anything in HTML? In a table.

For those who already have a button, here’s the piece of coding you need:

  • <table border=”0″>
  • <tr>
  • <td>PLACE THE FIRST PART OF YOUR BUTTON CODE HERE</td>
  • <td>PLACE THE SECOND PART OF YOUR BUTTON CODE HERE</td>
  • </tr>
  • </table>

Remember to mess with your Rows + Columns (rows=”8″ cols=”18″) coding to adjust the height of your code box so the button and the code box will be similar in size. When copying the code, be sure to copy the text only and not the bullet! It will trash your coding.

For those who need the coding to create a button:

Here it is, compliments of The Mama Hen’s How To Make A Blog Button .

[div align="center"][a href="http://www.YOURBLOG.com" target="_blank"][img src="http://YOURIMAGEURL"][/a][/div]

[div align="center"][form][textarea rows="3" cols="19" readonly="readonly"][a href="http://YOURBLOGL.com" target="_blank"][img src="http://YOURIMAGEURL"][/textarea][/form][/div]

Replace all the brackets [ and ] with these symbols: < and >.

And you’re good to go!

Check out mine in the sidebar! And be sure to check out the Awesome Bloggers I recommend!
