Nope.
My Newest addition is…
Are you holding on to your undies?
A BlogFrog Community! YAY!
Pretty damn anticlimactic don’cha’ think?
Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.
I’ve been wanting to do this for a while. Create a forum-like setting where fellow bloggers with WordPress and search engine marketing/optimization questions could post and others can learn from the answers. I answer a lot of Qs by email and twitter DM, and I’m thinking this way others can benefit. I’m also thinking this way, if I’m super busy, someone else can answer it too.
Yes I know there are Linkedin groups for that, shut it.
I’m talking about a group where we can mix Qs about WordPress, SEO, working from home, blogging, time management, etc.
Yes I know there are Linkedin groups for that, shut it. Not every mom blogger wants to connect on Linkedin.
See? Win win.
So I made the leap today and created a BlogFrog Community Page and I’ve embedded it here on the blog.
BTW, I find it really odd that my blog frog friends are already considered members, but hey, at least i’m not alone.
I’ve got to tell you I absolutely love BlogFrog. I haven’t been by in a while which sucks cause I’ve missed out on quite a bit. The BlogFrog is where I’ve met many awesome mom bloggers and I’ve been a member for over two years now I think. Whenever I’m asked by a new blogger how to expand their network and grow their audience, I send ‘em to the BlogFrog. I don’t send ‘em to Linkedin. Though I really do like Linkedin, I feel I prefer connecting on the BlogFrog and it’s easier to build relationships there.
BlogFrog’s two best features? IMHO…
1. Easily connect with other bloggers
2. Easily keep up with BFF or Members Posts in one tab.
Anyway, the BlogFrog has a new design up, and I gotta say, it’s cool that they’re growing as a business and giving bloggers more opportunities to work with brands, but I kinda miss the old homepage interface. It makes it super easy to find Discussions to “listen” in on and new communities to join.
I can’t tell you how happy I was to find that the old homepage can be found by heading to http://theblogfrog.com/bloggers/ and then scrolling down to the big picture that says “Not A Blogger?” and clicking on Find A Community. The “not a blogger” thing makes no sense to me, but what do I care?
Going back to that working with brands thing I mentioned, I learned from Pragmaticmom yesterday about BlogFrog’s Influencer Circle. I did the application process. Not sure if any brands would want to work with me. LOL. But I figured what the heck, I’d see what happens.
By the way, I grabbed the link from Pragmaticmom’s site, it was just easier since I went and grabbed her post link. Though this isn’t a sponsored post, her post was, and the link may be an affiliate link, I didn’t get to ask, but does it even matter? The BlogFrog membership is free. There once was 2 levels of paid membership, but they’ve done away with it. Pretty damn cool, huh?
Anyway, still working out the specifics of the community page. Like listing exactly what it’s for. Heck, I even come up with a name for it on my Menu bar, I just called it MAB Community. And the widget you embed on your blog is wonky, the text that should be on the bottom have of the widget isn’t showing.
Blah.
Back to the old coloring board.
Anyway, if you’re a blogfrog member, be sure to drop by, join and say hi. It’s also a great place for us to keep updated on fellow members’ blog posts. If you’re not a blogfrog member, sign up, what the hell are you waiting for? Here’s you chance to connect with other bloggers and with brands.
And if you’ve got any wordpress-seo-hosting-techy blogging stuff you need help with, be sure to share in the forum. I’ll get an email when it’s posted. If it’s a super private q, feel free to DM me on twitter or use the contact page here on the blog.

Funny, I just remembered my BlogFrog account a day ago and went in there to update my profile!

it does, doesn’t it? i still miss easily accessing the old look though.
Good for you, Vanita! I will head right over there! I really like Blog Frog too and really don’t know why I don’t engage in it more. Maybe time and learning curve – those are my issues. I might check out the Influencer’s Circle too. I wonder if you can do that without your own community…

I must say you’re a crazy one V! Aren’t you busy enough?! LOL
Crazy, but awesomely amazing wanting to create something that’ll benefit other bloggers, WordPress users, and just people in general
I have heard a little about Blog Frog, but I had no idea what it actually was, so now I know!
well there’s really nothing going on in it…lol. but at least this way it’s there when bloggers have Qs and this way others can learn from it
Welcome to the BlogFrog neighborhood sista!
